Auditing a complex campaign estate without broader system access
I made a campaign audit faster and more consistent, helping a wider CRM and marketing-automation programme move forward.
- Role
- Marketing automation executive
- Focus
- Campaign audit and systems transformation
- Outcome
- Expected to take over 6 months, completed in under 2
A systems transformation needed a reliable record of active and inactive campaigns, including customer communications, operational programs, suppression logic, and programme handoffs. There were hundreds of campaigns. The existing process was manual, slow, and inconsistent because people shortened their notes just to get through the volume. I also did not have permission to use the platform API, which was appropriate for the access controls in place.
What I did
A practical way through the constraint
- 01
Look at the data available in the interface
I examined the campaign pages and found structured client-side outputs containing the information needed for the audit.
- 02
Create a consistent audit record
I used approved institutional AI tooling to turn those structured outputs into documentation that followed the team's audit standard.
- 03
Work within the access model
The approach did not require broader permissions. It used information already available to my assigned account and produced records the wider programme could use.
Result
What changed
The audit was completed in under two months rather than the more than six months originally expected. It also made it possible to process hundreds of campaigns in a day, rather than being limited by manual documentation.
Organisation, platforms, access model, and programme details are withheld. Timeframes and volumes are directional.
