Keeping lifecycle marketing moving while the integration caught up
I built practical workarounds for essential segmentation and email flows when the marketing-automation integration was incomplete.
- Role
- Growth marketing manager
- Focus
- Lifecycle marketing and data transformation
- Outcome
- Essential flows continued despite an incomplete integration
The marketing-automation platform was only partly integrated with the business's data. The technology team had other priorities, so the remaining integration work could not be completed quickly. That left essential marketing flows and segmentation blocked by data that should have been available automatically.
What I did
A practical way through the constraint
- 01
Identify the non-negotiable touchpoints
I focused on the core email flows and segments needed for the marketing programme to keep operating.
- 02
Transform the data outside the missing connection
I used AI-assisted coding to reshape the available database data into a form the marketing platform could use.
- 03
Build around the gap
The workaround made it possible to launch the essential communications while the broader integration remained unfinished.
Result
What changed
The team could still run the lifecycle touchpoints and segmentation it needed, even though the intended integration had not yet caught up with the marketing plan.
Organisation, platforms, data structure, and integration details are withheld.
